Marty Weiss is the founder and design director of Meter Industries.

In 1989, Marty became a founding partner and co-creative director of Weiss, Whitten, which then became Weiss, Whitten, Carroll, Stagliano in 1991. Through the next 12 years the agency worked with many of the who’s who of European premium and luxury brands including Giorgio Armani, Guinness, Bass Ale, Ferrari and The Economist.

In 2002 Weiss Stagliano Partners became the design consultancy Brand Architecture International, a wholly owned subsidiary of TBWA/Chiat Day. As design/creative director, Marty worked on numerous branding projects with clients including Clinique, Waterworks and the City of Toronto.

Prior to starting Weiss Whitten, Marty was vice president and associate creative director at Chiat/Day, New York, where he developed campaigns for Reebok, Sara Lee and NYNEX Yellow Pages. Marty was voted art director of the year by Adweek in 1988. His campaign for NYNEX won him grand and gold Effie awards for advertising effectiveness, and the gold lion at the Cannes advertising film festival in 1988 as well as numerous other awards. The NYNEX campaign was also voted one of the 10 best campaigns of the decade by Adweek magazine.

Marty’s interest in photography was the inspiration for the launch in 1994 of Meter Gallery, a photography gallery in catalog form featuring fine art prints from contemporary artists. In 2001 Marty launched www.metergallery.com, a virtual fine art photography gallery.

In 2006, Marty started Meter Industries.

Marty attended Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles and Pasadena, and is a past board member of the One Club and the Art Directors Club.
